Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
